Giuseppe Gentile

Giuseppe Gentile was born in Città di Castello (PG) on 24 October 1942. He attended Sir John Cass College in London, achieving his high-school diploma in Aeronautical Science in 1960. He graduated in Pedagogical Science from Rome “Sapienza” University in 1980. From 1962 to 1988 he held positions in various aeronautical and airline companies in Italy and abroad, including Aeronautica Militare Italiana (as pilot in the Presidential fleet), Itavia Airlines (the first private Italian airline company) and Alitalia. This was followed by a series of entrepreneurial roles in the aeronautical sector: in 1989 he founded (together with associates) Air Europe sold (in 2000) to Swissair; in 2005 he founded Air Italy then merged (in 2010) with Meridiana. He has been on the board of Safe Bag as non-executive member since May 2017.
